Skeptic’s opinion is not worth our attention

Freeman Dyson has questioned whether climate change is largely due to human activity. Dyson, a long-retired theoretical physicist and mathematician, is not an expert in climate change.

In his own words, from a Yale interview in 2009: “My objections to the global warming propaganda are not so much over the technical facts, about which I do not know much, but it’s rather against the way those people behave and the kind of intolerance to criticism that a lot of them have.”

He also said about climate models: “I am not an expert, and that’s not going to change. I am not going to make myself an expert.”

So why are we reading his opinion on the subject?
