Obstacles to access of medical marijuana present strong argument for legalization

The article “Growing pains in cannabis industry” (Page A1, Jan. 26) demonstrates clearly why marijuana should be legalized and regulated like alcohol. If citizens were allowed to grow their own marijuana, patients would have access to what they need, in the convenience of their own homes, and would not have to worry about pesticides.

The puritanical motivations of the Massachusetts government, afraid that some people might get marijuana who don’t need it medically, have put so many restrictions on the medical marijuana industry that people are suffering needlessly. It is way past time to legalize marijuana.
