Thanks for scrutinizing my beloved alma mater’s athletic program (“Reaching new lows at the Heights”). Boston College has no business playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference against schools like the University of North Carolina and Duke, whose basketball teams have seasons of more than 20 wins that go back 50 years. A return to the Big East would bring games to the New York area. This region boasts one of the largest concentrations of alumni in the country.
How about transferring to another athletic conference with more parity and New York games on the schedule?
Jack Brooks, former president of Holy Cross, restored the balance between athletics and academics by helping to establish the Patriot League. BC is overmatched in the ACC.
