Knock at GOP tax plan misses its considerable upside

The front-page article “Wealthy suburbs would feel pain of GOP tax plan” on Thursday is a perfect example of the Globe’s bias against Republicans. In discussing the effects of the current Republican tax bill, in large print on the front page, it says that 35 percent of Massachusetts households take the federal tax deduction for state income taxes and would see their taxable income reduced by an average of $10,100. Hidden inside the text of the article, and appearing on its continuation on Page A10, it says that “80 percent of Massachusetts residents would save on their federal taxes in 2019.”
