As interesting as Thomas Gagen’s Nov. 19 op-ed “Memo to Elizabeth Warren: Don’t run for president” is in a broad sense, it’s a few words that Gagen used to describe Warren’s background — how she “rose from a humble background and a failed marriage” — that caught my attention. One might consider the latter part of that phrase a microaggression against a woman. Of what value is “a failed marriage” to the rest of the column regarding whether Warren should run? Is not “a humble background” enough?
I don’t recall President Trump’s two failed marriages being mentioned when talking about whether he should run.
