After reading about the exorbitant prices that Lyft and Uber were charging passengers who were stranded during Tuesday’s Red Line derailment (“Surge pricing follows derailment,” Metro, June 12), I felt a combination of anger and resignation — anger, because these companies were taking advantage of people who had few alternatives for transportation, and resignation, because corporate greed no longer surprises me. However, I want to publicly state: Shame, shame, shame.
