Longtime Globe staff photographer John Tlumacki was honored by being named BPPA Photographer of the Year for 2011 in a competition judged in early February. The BPPA, or Boston Press Photographers Association, is the oldest press and television photographers association in the United States. Although John has won many individual category awards over the years, this is his first portfolio win in the competition. “I have the best job in the world,” John said as he recently presented his winning images to a group of managers at the Globe.
