Boys’ soccer stars of the week

Stanley Alves, Newton North — Despite an 0-1-2 week for the Tigers, the junior forward stood out by scoring all four of his team’s goals, including two against No. 10 Wellesley.

Evan Flanagan, Hingham — The senior scored his team’s goal in a 1-0 win over Pembroke, then struck twice more in a 3-1 win over Whitman-Hanson, keeping the ninth-ranked Harbormen undefeated (10-0-3).


John Fischer, Norwell — The senior cocaptain scored the tying and winning goals in a 3-2 victory over South Shore foe Carver.

Brooks Clark, St. John’s Prep — The senior midfielder buried two goals in a 2-0 win over BC High that allowed the No. 3 Eagles to capture their third consecutive Catholic Conference title.

Cody Savonen, Nauset — The explosive senior striker found paydirt four times against Dennis-Yarmouth, then netted his team’s goal in a 1-0 win over Barnstable, giving him 19 on the season.
