FOXBOROUGH -- The right side of the Patriots’ offensive line received a boost on Thursday, with guard Dan Connolly and tackle Sebastian Vollmer returning to practice.

Vollmer sat out last Thursday’s game against the Jets with back and knee injuries, and also missed Wednesday’s practice. Connolly played in the Jets game, but also missed Wednesday’s practice with a back injury.

Four players were not spotted as the Patriots worked on the lower practice field in sweats and shells on a cold, windy day: offensive linemen Logan Mankins (ankle/calf) and Markus Zusevics (illness), tight end Rob Gronkowski (forearm), and defensive end Chandler Jones (ankle).
