 Games lost: 625 — more than 50 percent of the schedule. This includes all games through Jan. 14, including New Year’s Day Winter Classic and All-Star weekend.

 Of note: There was no sign that the sides would talk, even by phone, before Christmas. ‘‘Nothing today,’’ NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told the Associated Press in an e-mail Sunday night. ‘‘Don’t know whether we will speak before the holiday.’’ . . . There were no games scheduled for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
