Every Sunday, Boston Globe photographer Stan Grossfeld asks the subject of one of his photos to explain what's happening in the shot.

Who’s up today: Alex King, 11, of Chicago walks on his hands in a swimming pool in Hollywood, Fla., Dec. 27, 2012.

King: “I was having fun doing gymnastics underwater. I’ve been swimming for 10 years. I’m like a fish, because I love to swim and I’m a Pisces, too. That’s my favorite thing. I’ve scuba dived in Mexico, I’ve snorkeled. If I was home, I’d be shoveling snow. Instead I get to relax and be in the sun. Its fun, it’s like standing up underwater but your feet are on the roof. Sometimes I have my parents count for me. Sometimes 16 seconds, sometimes a minute. I just go fast and the air doesn’t go into my nose.”
