Candidates to replace Jack Parker

Jack Parker will be part of the process to choose his successor at BU.

BU athletic director Mike Lynch said the search for a new coach to replace the retiring Jack Parker will begin over the course of the next several weeks.

“This is a marquee job,’’ said Lynch. “It’s an enormously important position and it will be handled at the highest level of the university.’’


Here are some candidates who could be considered:

1. David Quinn — Former BU player and associate coach is now an assistant with the Colorado Avalanche.

2. Mike Bavis — Former BU player is in his 15th year on the Terriers’ coaching staff.

3. Mike Sullivan — Former BU standout, NHL player, and Bruins coach is now an assistant with the New York Rangers.

4. Shawn McEachern — Former star for the Terriers, NHL player, and assistant at Northeastern and UMass-Lowell; currently assistant athletic director and coach at the Rivers School.
