Terry Francona’s Indians have thrived against Cy Young-level pitchers this year.

The Indians, a surprise contender in the AL Central, have been at their best against the best, compiling a 7-1 record against opposing starters who have Cy Young Awards in their trophy cases.

The combined ERA in the seven losses suffered by R.A. Dickey, David Price, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Bartolo Colon, Justin Verlander, and Felix Hernandez is 9.26.

Jake Peavy of the White Sox is the only former Cy Young winner to have beaten Terry Francona’s squad, going seven innings in a 3-1 win April 14.

A look at their performances against the Cy Young winners:

April 2 Indians 4, at Blue Jays 1
