Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will not play in Sunday’s game against the Falcons.

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receiver Danny Amendola will not play in Sunday’s matchup against the Falcons.

Globe writer Ben Volin had reported on Friday that a source said New England planned to use the two players on a limited basis during the game.

But on Saturday, Volin posted via Twitter that his source said “things changed over night,” and that Gronkowski and Amendola, both recovering from injuries, did not travel to Atlanta.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the players did not make the trip.

The two players had been listed as questionable on the latest injury report.

Earlier on Saturday, the Boston Herald reported Gronkowski’s family has reservations about rushing the tight end back too quickly.
