Tennessee needed overtime, but held off Iowa, 78-65, in the final play-in game of the NCAA Tournament Wednesday night at Dayton, Ohio.

The UMass men’s basketball team will face the Volunteers in the second round of the NCAA Tournament’s Midwest Regional.

The game will be Friday at approximately 2:45 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C.

The winner faces Duke or Mercer on Sunday.

Tennessee had won six of its final eight behind three key veterans: senior guard Jordan McRae (18.6 ppg, 2.5 apg), junior forward Jarnell Stokes (14.7 ppg, 10.3 rpg), and senior forward Jeronne Maymon (10.1 ppg).
