Before their game against the Chicago Blackhawks Thursday night at TD Garden, the Bruins held a moment of silence for the two Boston firefighters who died in Wednesday’s Back Bay blaze.
The shield of the Boston Fire Department was projected on the ice during pregame ceremonies, in honor of Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh Jr. and Firefighter Michael R. Kennedy, who lost their lives while battling the fire near the intersection of Beacon and Exeter streets.
During warm-ups, the Bruins also wore Boston Fire Department hats.
Proceeds from the night’s 50/50 raffle were designated to go to a memorial fund, and four seats were raffled off earlier in the day.
