BALTIMORE - Stephen Drew will not be making the trip to Fenway to take part in the Red Sox’ ring ceremony Friday, according to his agent Scott Boras and coach Alex Ochoa.
“He’s working hard down here. He’s in great shape,” said Ochoa, a former Red Sox coach now training Drew and Kendrys Morales, two free-agents who remain unsigned.
Boras said Drew continues to remain focused on his workouts and the chance to hook on with another team.
Drew, who has been working out at St. Thomas College in Miami Gardens since mid-February, turned down a $14.1 million qualifying offer from the Red Sox and elected to wait out a multi-year deal that, thus far, has not come.

Two of Drew’s ex-teammates, who were hoping to see him, felt that Drew would feel uncomfortable at the event based on the way things have unfolded for him.
