Patriots officially sign Jimmy Garoppolo
The Patriots signed second-round draft pick Jimmy Garoppolo Monday to a four-year deal worth $3.3 million, with a $853,744 signing bonus.
There is a rookie pay scale in the NFL's 2011 collective bargaining agreement, so those numbers are essentially fixed.
Top pick Dominique Easley, a defensive lineman from Florida, is the only remaining member of the Patriots' 2014 draft class who has not come to terms with the team.
Garoppolo, a quarterback who was the 62d overall pick out of Eastern Illinois, started all 45 games he played in college, completing 62.8 percent of his passes.
In 2013, Garoppolo was named the Walter Payton Award winner as the top player in the Football Championship Subdivision.
He and free agent tight end Asa Watson were in Los Angeles last weekend taking part in the NFL Rookie Premiere event.

According to reports on NBC Sports and ESPN, the Patriots met with free agent tight end Jermichael Finley on Friday.
Finley, 27, who has played the last six years for Green Bay, is coming off neck surgery.
