April has been a good month for Celtics coaches past and present so far, as both coach Brad Stevens and Doc Rivers were named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Coaches of the Month.
Stevens led the Celtics to the East's best record in April at 7-1, including a 4-0 mark on the road. The Celtics closed the month with six consecutive victories – five of them against playoff teams, to clinch a postseason berth.
The Celtics will be the seventh seed in the East and open against the Cleveland Cavaliers, with Game 1 set for Sunday, April 19 at 3 p.m. on ABC.

Rivers guided the Clippers to the league's only undefeated record in April at 7-0. The run included victories over two playoff teams, the Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies.
The Clippers open postseason play as the third seed in the West, and will host the defending champion San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 on Sunday, April 19 at 10:30 p.m. on TNT.
