Bruins captain Zdeno Chara paid a surprise visit to injured women's hockey player Denna Laing on Wednesday and gave her gifts, including a jersey and a pair of custom Bruins high heel shoes.
Laing, a player for the Boston Pride women's pro hockey team, suffered a severe spinal injury Dec. 31 at the Outdoor Women's Classic at Gillette Stadium.
On Tuesday, the Bruins and Canadiens announced their Winter Classic jerseys, which they wore in their games on Jan. 1 and Tuesday night, would be auctioned to support Laing's recovery fund, and on Saturday the Bruins and several partners announced they would be donating a minimum of $200,000 to the fund.

For those who don't know me. This is the perfect present because I have quite the collection of heels. #gamedaydress pic.twitter.com/wrfruPy5mI
