Legal Sea Foods may have made an offer Kevin Durant can’t refuse.
The Boston-based seafood chain is trying to bait Durant to Boston by offering him free king crab legs anytime he visits one of 10 locations throughout Massachusetts.
The catch: Durant must be a member of the Celtics.
“17 World Championships and endless king crab legs? We think it’s time KD takes a closer look at Boston as his next home,” said Roger Berkowitz, president and chief executive officer of Legal Sea Foods. “Whether we serve them to him steamed or braised, this is our civic responsibility.”
Durant, whose favorite food is crab legs, is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. In 2013, the four-time NBA scoring champion collaborated with Nike on the KD VI Maryland Blue Crab sneaker.
Durant, 27, was drafted second overall in the 2007 draft by Seattle. He’s averaged 27.4 points and shot 48.3 percent in his nine seasons.
