The family that owns the Utah Jazz said farewell to Gordon Hayward with a full-page ad in Friday’s Salt Lake Tribune.
The ad, which was signed, “The Miller family and Utah Jazz,” depicts Hayward looking up at a Jazz logo under a huge headline that says, “Thank You.”
The text reads, “Thank you, Gordon.
“For always giving us your best. We’ve enjoyed your game-winning shots and watching you become an NBA All-Star, and we’re proud of your growth as a husband, father and teammate.
“We wish you and your family happiness and success as you move on with your career.”
Hayward, who played seven seasons in Utah after being drafted out of Butler in 2010, announced via the Players’ Tribune Tuesday that he would be joining the Celtics as a free agent. The forward is set to sign a four-year, $128 million deal with Boston.
