Costas Takkas, a former aide to the president of the soccer group comprising North and Central America and the Caribbean, was sentenced Tuesday to 15 months in prison after pleading guilty to money laundering in the bribery scandal engulfing FIFA. Takkas, 60, will serve five months behind bars after being given credit for 10 months already served in Switzerland.
Authorities in Argentina have accused former Colombia soccer international Mauricio Serna of being part of a criminal organization devoted to money laundering. Serna was named on Monday along with the widow and son of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, Victoria Henao, and Juan Pablo Escobar Henao . . .
