Paul Pierce always will be a Celtic in most fans’ minds. His one-year stint with the Nets was largely forgettable.
But that trade did set the stage for the Celtics winning Tuesday night’s NBA Draft Lottery. They’ll pick first in next month’s draft.
Pierce, of course, was traded to Brooklyn in 2013, along with Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry, in a blockbuster deal that netted the Celtics five players and three first-round draft picks.
Pierce, who retired this year, let Boston fans know he’ll always be a Celtic with this tweet.
And look what I leave behind for the Celts on my way out #1 pick😂👌🏾🙏🔥
