Kyrie Irving will sit out tonight vs. 76ers

Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving, who strained his right knee in Saturday’s loss to the Clippers, will sit out against the 76ers on Tuesday.

Irving is listed as day-to-day after undergoing an MRI on Sunday. Boston returns home Wednesday to face the Pistons. Then the team will have a week off for the All-Star break, though Irving has been selected as a starter in next Sunday’s All-Star Game.

■   Head to head: This is the third of four meetings. Boston is 2-0 against Philadelphia.

■  Miscellany: The Sixers acquired Harris in a six-player deal with the Clippers before last Wednesday’s trade deadline . . . Embiid went into Monday’s games sixth in the league in scoring and third in rebounding . . . The Sixers are coming off a 143-120 trouncing of the Lakers Sunday.
