Boston College athletic director Martin Jarmond announced on Wednesday that fans who purchased tickets through the school to the First Responder Bowl will receive a full refund by Jan. 2. Wednesday’s bowl game between BC and Boise State was canceled because of inclement weather in Dallas.

In addition, Jarmond said fans will receive free tickets for the number of bowl tickets they purchased to any BC athletic event through December 2019.

Details on obtaining free BC event tickets are available by e-mailing athtick@bc.edu.

The Eagles, who were seeking their elusive eighth win of the season, wound up having their bowl game against No. 23 Boise State interrupted in the first quarter by lightning after BC had taken a 7-0 lead on A.J. Dillon’s 19-yard touchdown run with 5:08 remaining.

After a delay of about 1½ hours, repeated lightning strikes in the area, coupled with a severe weather forecast, prompted bowl officials to cancel the game, officially ruling it no contest.
