Lexington QB Sal Frelick among Week 3 players of the week

Division 1

Brendan Tighe, Lowell – The sophomore receiver snared four touchdowns – three of over 20 yards – in a 35-16 dismantling of Chelmsford.

Will Bowen, BC High – The senior did it all in the Eagles 30-14 win over Hudson Catholic (N.J.), racking up 200 all-purpose yards and two rushing touchdowns while throwing for two more.

Sal Frelick, Lexington – His speed a game-shifting asset, the senior quarterback ran for 200 yards and two touchdowns, throwing for a third in an emphatic 41-21 win over Reading.

Division 2

Gabe DeSouza, North Andover — The junior wideout was pivotal in the Scarlet Knights’ 35-16 win over Tewksbury, racking up 148 yards on four catches with two touchdowns and an interception.

Jack McNeil, Marshfield — There is nothing more frightening for opposing teams than a fully healthy McNeil, and he proved why on Friday night. The senior tailback rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns as the Rams snapped Falmouth’s 17-game winning streak, 57-6.

Bryce Shaw, Bridgewater-Raynham — The senior running back rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries as the Trojans made quick work of New Bedford Friday night, 41-0.

Division 3

Robert Doherty and Cole Pascucci, Concord-Carlisle — Doherty, a senior, and Pascucci, a sophomore, combined for over 200 yards rushing and five touchdowns as the Patriots beat St. Peter-Marian, 41-21.

Will Prouty, Duxbury — The sophomore wideout hauled in five passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns, including a 70-yarder, as the Dragons beat Whitman-Hanson, 23-9.

Clark Marchand Beverly — All it took was six carries for the senior tailback to rack up 140 yards and three touchdowns as the Panthers rolled over Malden, 53-13.

Division 4

Rey Giuty, Melrose — The senior running back is now the main guy in the backfield for the Red Raiders. “He is running with it, literally,” said coach Tim Morris. Giuty rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the team’s 28-14 win over Watertown.

Tyler Roberts, Wilmington — The senior proved to be a force on both sides of the ball Friday night. Roberts recorded 10 tackles — including a sack — while scoring twice on offense as the Wildcats defeated Wakefield, 20-15.

Wellington Pereira, Wayland — The junior was instrumental in helping the Warriors defeat previously undefeated Newton South, 37-12, Friday night. Pereira rushed for three touchdowns and 151 yards to power Wayland.

Division 5

Christian O’Brien, Triton — The Vikings’ senior running back completed the touchdown trifecta in Triton’s 35-21 win over Ipswich. O’Brien ran for a pair of 1-yard scores, caught a 16-yard touchdown pass, and completed the feat with a halfback pass to quarterback Tommy Lapham from 5-yards out.

Rob Evans, Dennis-Yarmouth — The senior carried the ball 15 times for 135 yards and two touchdowns in the Dolphins’ 50-7 win over rival Nauset. Evans also had 5 catches for 55 yards and factored in defensively with one sack.

Colin Frary, Swampscott — The senior threw for 246 yards and three scores to lead the Big Blue to a 48-6 victory over Winthrop. Frary scored on a rushing touchdown and set a program record for most points to begin a season with 140 through the first three games.

Division 6

Bryce Griffin, Norwell — The senior running back scored two of his three touchdowns in the first quarter to help the Clippers move past Abington, 42-22. Griffin finished with 25 carries for 172 yards and added a two-point conversion to help move Norwell to 3-0.

Jon Baar, Rockland — This senior was all over the field, amassing 235 all-purpose yards while finding pay dirt three times to help the Bulldogs (2-1) topple defending Super Bowl champion East Bridgewater, 25-7. Baar ran one in from 11 yards out, caught an 80-yard pass, and returned an interception 102 yards.

Ryan Sanderson, Northeast Tech — The junior running back racked up five touchdowns - four of which came in the first half - to help the Golden Knights (2-1) top visiting Mystic Valley, 48-14. Sanderson carried the ball 22 times and amassed 211 yards on the ground.

Division 7

Erick Brown, Brighton — The senior running back powered Brighton to a 32-0 win over East Boston by rushing for 190 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries.

Noah Froio, Cohasset — In a 36-0 win over Hull, the senior captain rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Skippers to their first win of the season.

Brendan O’Brien, Archbishop Williams — In a comeback win, the senior scored on a 2-yard run with 40 seconds left. Sophomore Neil Sanders converted the two-point rush to lift the Bishops (1-2) to their first win of the season, an 8-7 besting of North Quincy.

Division 8

Khalil Blair, Cathedral — Blair had a dominant performance against Lowell Catholic. The running back rushed for four touchdowns and 255 yards in just over a quarter of action, leading the Panthers to a 42-0 win.

Devan Harrison, Saint John Paul II — Devan Harrison threw four touchdown passes and rushed for another pair of scores in a 51-0 win over Marian Saturday.

Kurt Hopkins, Millis — The running back rushed for three touchdowns and scored 18 of the Mohawks 24 points in a 24-0 win over Dedham.

Prep

Cole Roland, Thayer — The senior quarterback threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third to power Thayer to a 27-0 opening week victory over Middlesex. Roland held his own at defensive end to aid the shutout.

Angel Santiago, Tabor — The senior running back ran for three touchdowns to lead visiting Tabor past St. Mark’s, 32-14, in the opening week of ISL action.

Mike Piazza, Belmont Hill — An accurate passer, Piazza went 9-for-10 for 194 yards and three touchdowns in Belmont Hill’s 35-0 shutout of Roxbury Latin.
