MIAA FOOTBALL PLAYOFF PICKS | CRAIG LARSON

Craig Larson’s sectional final football picks

Catholic Memorial over Xaverian —The Brent Williams-coached Knights ride the wave of their Hail Mary win over BC High, and a stingy D, to a season sweep of the host Hawks.

Dennis-Yarmouth over Scituate — Aidan Sullivan (18 TD passes) and the Sailors have surged to six straight wins. But Scituate can’t match Dolphins’ firepower (44.4 ppg) at home.

Duxbury over North Attleborough — No doubting the Dragons this week. Joe Gooley and Co. made their point in last week’s 38-point uprising against Hingham.

Everett over Central Catholic —Top-ranked Crimson Tide finally face a foe with a better scoring margin (31.3 to 29.2). But Everett is still the pick in a fourth-quarter game.

King Philip over Bridgewater-Raynham — Dan Buron’s crew certainly made a statement in Natick last week with its seventh straight win. But the host Warriors prevail for their 22nd straight W.

Lincoln-Sudbury over North Andover — Not sure, Week 1 through Week 9, there’s been a more impressive squad than Tom Lopez’s 9-0 Warriors.

Lynnfield over Watertown — Raiders have ruled the road the past two weeks in Swampscott and Somerville. However, Matt Mortellite-piloted Pioneers (32.2 ppg) can really spread the field.

Mashpee over Abington — Indians closed with a 21-6 flurry en route to a 49-point explosion in their Week 7 matchup. Devaun Ford runs behind that massive front to another win.

Milton over Hopkinton — Host Hillers have the best scoring D (5.4 ppg) in Eastern Mass. But in a duel of stellar QBs, Luke McMenamin has more weapons, and a healthy Smith Charles.

St. Mary’s over Brighton — Calvin Johnson and James Brumfield have teamed up for 36 touchdowns for the speedy Spartans (44.2 ppg). Next stop, state semis.

    Last week: 3-5; Season: 51-25.
