Top performances from EMass. girls’ softball players in the past week:
Sarah Alston, Diman — The senior was key in the Bengals’ comeback win at Tri-County last Wednesday, launching a three-run homer and a double in the 12-6 win. Alston followed that up Friday by going 2 for 4 while striking out four to earn the victory in a 9-7 win over Bristol-Plymouth.
Bella Erti, North Attleborough — In the Red Rocketeers’ season opener, the junior gave up just one run on four hits while striking out 13 in a 2-1 win over Stoughton last Thursday.
Julia Ferry, Bridgewater-Raynham — Coming off a dazzling performance against Marshfield in the season opener, the Trojans junior tossed a no-hitter in a 13-0, five-inning victory over Durfee last Wednesday. In 12 innings, she has allowed just two earned runs with 25 strikeouts.
Rachel LaLumiere, Chelmsford — The senior belted a three-run home run in the eighth inning last Thursday to lift the Lions to a 6-3 over Westford. She also pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn the victory.
Colleen O’Toole, West Bridgewater — The sophomore shortstop is hitting .875 through three games. She went 4 for 5 with nine RBIs in a 27-2 win over Westport on Thursday, and 5 for 5 with 10 RBIs in a 25-3 win over Sacred Heart on Friday.Dan Shulman can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
