Tom Brady has kept himself busy through his first week-plus of his suspension with a media tour for his new "Do nothing" campaign for UGGS. But the Patriots' quarterback won't be doing nothing this weekend – in fact, he apparently plans to work out with former teammate Wes Welker.
Welker was a guest host on Miami radio station WQAM on Friday morning, and said he will be attending Sunday's Patriots-Dolphins game at Gillette Stadium to do "a little spoof deal."
And since he's going to be in the area, Welker hit up his old buddy Brady to see if he wanted to hang out and grab dinner. But Brady apparently has bigger plans (in addition to attending the Michigan-Colorado game on Saturday).
"I hit him up to do dinner Saturday night. He's like, 'I'm going to be flying in from Ann Arbor later, but how about that morning we go throw?'" Welker said. "And I'm just sitting there, I'm like, 'I was just thinking about dinner, but yeah, sure. I'll get over there early and we can throw a little bit."
Welker said the two still don't have dinner plans, but he's definitely bringing his cleats to New England with him this weekend.
"That's the only thing we really have planned," Welker said. "It's just funny. I'm sitting there trying to have dinner. 'Hey, get your ass up here and let's go throw.' I'm like, 'Aw jeez, man.' He's going to have me running like 2-minute drills in his backyard or something."
