Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was the University of Michigan football team’s honorary captain for Saturday’s game in Ann Arbor, Mich., against Colorado.
Brady accepted the invitation to come back to Michigan, his alma mater, while he serves his four-game NFL suspension.
Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, also a former Wolverines quarterback, played catch with Brady during pregame warmups.
‘‘He can whip it,’’ Harbaugh said with a grin. ‘‘He can throw it well. I wish I wouldn’t have given him the wind.’’
The Wolverines, ranked No. 4 in the country, defeated the Buffaloes, 45-28.
Brady also played catch with his son on the field at Michigan Stadium, and he posted video to his official Facebook page.

During his suspension, Brady is barred from attending or watching Patriots practice, nor can he have any contact with any team personnel.
No. 12 will return from his suspension in Week 5, when the Patriots travel to Cleveland to play the Browns.
