FOXBOROUGH — Bills safety Robert Blanton shoved Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett as Brissett and fellow rookie Malcolm Mitchell did some sideline sprinting about an hour for the game Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
Mitchell came to his quarterback’s defense and exchanged several shoves with Blanton before several more Bills jumped into the brouhaha, which was quelled by several coaches.
Bills safety Aaron Williams shoved Patriots receivers coach Chad O’Shea during the dustup.
“I didn’t see what happened but I heard about it,” said Patriots president Jonathan Kraft on his pregame radio appearance on 98.5. “But that gets back to Rex. I think if you are less-than-disciplined in your personal approach, your team will take on the attitude of the coach. I think for different people, different strategies work. I guess you’d have to ask Rex but my guess is that Rex probably loves that. That’s why Rex is Rex and that’s why Bill is Bill.
