Last week, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said he was done talking about politics, per order of his wife. On Monday, he held true to his word.

“I’m not talking politics anymore guys. I’m just not,” Brady said on WEEI. “I’ve got other things to worry about. Just speaking with my family, it’s a bad idea. I know I told you I would, and then after I told you I would, I changed my mind.”

When asked if he gave Trump permission to announce at a rally the night before the election that he had his support, Brady wouldn’t budge.

“I just don’t want to get into it guys. I really don’t,” he said. “There’s nothing positive that comes of it. There’s just been so much negativity over the last week. I’m a positive person, I just want to keep things positive.”

Brady was also asked if he was happy one of his friends was in the White House.

“I don’t want to express any emotions or feelings as to how I feel,” said Brady. “You know what I am? I’m hopeful and optimistic that our country can move forward. I’m happy the election is over. I’m sure a lot of other people are. I’m gonna focus on football.”
