Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount scored his 15th rushing touchdown of the season against the Broncos on Sunday, breaking Curtis Martin’s franchise record for most rushing touchdowns in a single season.
The score came in the second quarter when he plunged into the end zone on a 1-yard run.
Martin, who was with the Patriots from 1995-97, scored 14 rushing touchdowns in 1995 and 1996.
Twelve of Blount’s 15 touchdowns this season have come inside the 10-yard line and eight of them have been 1-yard runs. Blount crossed the 1,000-yard rushing mark against Baltimore on Monday Night Football, the second time his career he’s reached that milestone.
Blount leads the league in rushing touchdowns and came into Sunday ranked fifth in rushing yards (1,029).
