Former Boston College nose guard Mike Ruth (1982-85) was among 13 players and coaches named Monday to this year’s class for the College Football Hall of Fame.
Ruth, 52, won the Outland Trophy as the nation’s top interior lineman as a senior in 1985. Boston College retired his No. 68 in 1998. Ruth played for the Patriots from 1986-87.
The rest of the Hall of Fame class that will be inducted in December:

■ Southern Cal quarterback Matt Leinart (2003-05).
■ Notre Dame linebacker Bob Crable (1978-81)

■ Texas offensive tackle Bob McKay (1968-69)
■ Texas A&M linebacker Dat Nguyen (1995-98)
■ Georgia Southern running back Adrian Peterson (1998-2001)
■ New Mexico defensive back Brian Urlacher (1996-99)
■ Coaches Steve Spurrier, Danny Ford, and Larry Keheres.
