In the wake of President Donald Trump’s recent and pointed vilification of the NFL and its players, even calling for a boycott, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady shared a photo of him and teammate James White on Instagram conveying a message of unity.
Two days after Trump called any NFL player who protests during the national anthem a “son of bitch” who should be “fired,” Brady’s caption seemed to highlight the characteristics that make up an NFL player.
“Strength. Passion. Love. Brotherhood. Team. Unity. Commitment. Dedication. Determination. Respect. Loyalty. Work. #nflplayer,” Brady wrote in the caption.
Brady also appeared to applaud a similar Instagram post by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
On Sunday, Jaguars owner Shad Khan, who donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural committee, locked arms with his players before their game against the Ravens in London.
