Danny Amendola (knee) appears poised to play against Patriots
FOXBOROUGH — Former Patriots receiver Danny Amendola was one of six Dolphins listed as questionable on Wednesday’s injury report. Amendola missed last week’s win over Buffalo because of a knee injury, but appears poised to play against his old team.
Dolphins coach Adam Gase wasn’t willing to declare Amendola a full go, saying he wants him to take it slow and make sure he’s not overdoing it.
“This is the first time that I would say that he’s not being very compliant with me,’’ Gase said with a laugh. “He wants to play in this game as bad as anyone.’’
Patriots safety Patrick Chung fully expects to see his friend, who leads the Dolphins in receiving yards, on Sunday.
“Danny’s the man,’’ Chung said. “I mean, that’s because he’s my friend but he’s a small dude but he’s stronger than you think and he’s feisty. He’s going to be ready for us. He’s a tough dude, plays through injuries, smart. Whatever the injury report says, we’re getting ready for Danny because he’s good. He’ll be there. He’s a tough guy.’’
Amendola has played in 11 games this season, catching 48 passes on 62 targets for 469 yards and a touchdown.
