Texas highway’s safety signs take jabs at Patriots and Rams

The North Texas Tollway Authority’s main goal is to bring safety to the local highways.

With that in mind, it’s not afraid to have a little fun along the way.

The highway has featured two Super Bowl-themed signs. One, a not-so-subtle jab at the Los Angeles Rams, read: “If a Ram interferes with your car dial #999.” The reference, of course, is to the infamous missed pass interference call in the NFC Championship game — though theoretically, if an actual ram darted across the road and smashed your vehicle, you’d likely be encouraged do the same thing.

The second, an even-less-subtle-jab, is a reference to the still-frequently referenced Patriots saga, Deflategate. “Tire flat as a Patriots football dial #999.”

It’s unclear whether the signs have distracted any football-crazed drivers to this point, but they have made their way around the Internet.

The Patriots and Rams will battle in Super Bowl 53 on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
