Hanley Ramirez hits monster home run to left-center

Hanley Ramirez had been in a mild power slump this season. Until Tuesday night.

Ramirez launched a 468-foot home run off the light tower on the Green Monster in left-center field that gave the Red Sox a 3-0 lead in the first inning.

It is the second-longest homer of the season. Miami’s Giancarlo Stanton had a 475-foot blast earlier this season.

It was Ramirez’s fourth home run of the season.

Hanley Ramirez had his eyes on his long home run in the first inning. He needed great vision; the blast was estimated at 468 feet. Jim Davis/Globe Staff
