Stat of the day: The Sox matched their longest winning streak of the season with their ninth straight win Wednesday night against the Texas Rangers. It’s their second nine-game winning streak of the season. The rest of the teams in the majors have three nine-game streaks combined.

Notes: The Sox are a season-high 36 games over .500. Their seven-game winning streak at Fenway Park is the longest since they won seven straight in July 2016. They lead the majors with a 31-12 record at home … The Blue Jays have lost six of their last nine and currently sit fourth in the AL East, 21.5 games behind the Sox … David Price has given up 12 earned runs in eight innings over his past two starts. He’s 2-0 with a 3.48 ERA in two starts against the Jays this season … Happ is coming off his shortest outing of the season. He went just 2.2 innings against the Yankees on July 7, giving up six runs on four hits (two homers) and five walks. Prior to that, he gave up seven runs on 10 hits (two homers) and two walks in a loss to Seattle. Over his past three starts, he has a 10.05 ERA, giving up 16 runs, 21 hits, and four homers in just 14.1 innings … J.D.
