Stat of the Day: There were 561 pitches thrown in Game 3 by 18 pitchers.

What to watch for: Who can pitch? The Dodgers had Rich Hill scheduled and he did not pitch in Game 3. But then they changed their starter to TBA after the game, which was odd. The Red Sox didn’t use Chris Sale or Drew Pomeranz. But Sale would be going on three days’ rest. Andrew Benintendi, who had one at-bat on Friday/Saturday, will need to supply a lot of energy.

Can you believe it: Friday night/Saturday morning’s 3-2 Dodgers victory came in 18 innings and lasted 7 hours and 20 minutes. It ended at 3:30 a.m. Eastern Time. It was the longest postseason game in history by time and longest by inning in World Series history. The entire 1939 World Series, a four game sweep of the Yankees over the Reds, lasted 7 hours and 5 minutes.

Other notes: The Red Sox bullpen has a 2.65 ERA this postseason. … Mookie Betts is 12-for-54 (.222) this postseason with three RBIs. It’s also noteworthy that he has hit .238 with a .647 OPS in 19 career postseason games and has gone 80 at-bats without a home run. … Jackie Bradley Jr. has 10 RBIs in 12 postseason games.

Song of the Day: “Play It All Night Long” by Warren Zevon.
