Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts was named American League MVP Thursday night, and while he soaked in the moment with his family â including a newborn daughter â many teammates and other athletes took to social media to congratulate him.
The two other AL MVP finalists â Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez and Angels center fielder Mike Trout â were quick to congratulate Betts.

Teammates Jackie Bradley Jr and Sam Travis also took to Twitter. Bradley came up through the minors with Betts, and Travis has been an off-and-on member of the major league roster the past two seasons.
