Notes: The Sox went 3-3 in their first homestand of the season. They have won three of their last five and four of their last seven . . . Tuesday night marks the start of a five-game road trip. After two games in the Bronx, the Sox head to Florida for a three-game series against the MLB-leading Rays. Then they return home for a 10-game homestand that features series against Detroit, Tampa Bay, and Oakland . . . Boston is 3-3 against teams from the AL East, while New York is 4-2 against the AL East . . . The Sox are winless (0-6) when they don’t homer. They are hitting a collective .236, led by J.D. Martinez with an average of .344 . . . Sale is 6-4 with a 1.61 ERA in 14 career starts (17 appearances) against the Yankees. Last season, he was 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA in two starts . . .
