Scott Allen is the Assistant Managing Editor for Projects, overseeing the Spotlight Team as well as other investigative and long form reporters. Previously, he was editor of the Spotlight Team, which was a 2017 Pulitzer finalist for a series on the collapse of the mental health care system, “The Desperate and the Dead.” He has also served as the Globe’s health and science editor and environmental reporter, receiving a Knight Science Journalism Fellowship at MIT in 1997-98. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College in Maine.
