Dan Shaughnessy

Dan Shaughnessy joined the Boston Globe in 1981 and has been a sports columnist since 1989. In July of 2016 he received the J. G. Taylor Spink Award for meritorious contributions to baseball writing in a ceremony at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Shaughnessy has been named Massachusetts Sportswriter of the Year eleven times and eleven times has been voted one of America’s top ten sports columnists by the Associated Press Sports Editors. Shaughnessy has written twelve books, including The Curse of the Bambino, Francona, and Senior Year.
