Another NFL Scouting Combine brings another group of hopeful players taking aim at carving out a spot in the league.

On-field workouts begin Friday and go through Monday.

Coaches, general managers, and other team personnel will be conducting player interviews in the interim.

Combine participants will also face the media podium while in Indianapolis.

Here is a quick look at the combine:

■  When: Feb. 18-23

■  Where: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis

■  TV: NFL Network

■  Live stream: NFL Now

■  Number of participants: 323

■  History: The combine has been held in Indianapolis every year since 1987.

■  Of note: Eight power conference programs — Arizona, Cal, Colorado, Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Vanderbilt — have no participants.

This year’s combine has the fewest quarterbacks (15) since 2004 (14). There are no quarterbacks from the Big Ten. The Pac-12 has four participating. Thirty-two quarterbacks who have participated in the combine since 2004 have been drafted in the first round.

Fourteen running backs have run the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds or faster since 2003. Half went on to record at least one 1,000-yard NFL season: Chris Johnson, Darren McFadden, C.J. Spiller, Jamaal Charles, Maurice Jones-Drew, Lamar Miller, and Joseph Addai.
