    Tables: Sweet Cheeks to serve up breakfast sandwiches, and Davis Square gets a casual Thai spot

    Breakfast: You love their biscuits, and now barbecue parlor Sweet Cheeks (1381 Boylston St. at Kilmarnock Street) will sell breakfast sandwiches, beginning on Valentine’s Day. Get them with pork belly, sausage, egg, and cheese — perhaps with a side of hash browns. They’re on sale weekdays beginning at 8 a.m.

    Surprises: Stop into Area Four Boston (264 E. Berkeley St. at Albany Street) this month for a free mystery pizza. Just order a bottle of wine, large format cocktail, a 64-ounce growler. Imbibers get a pizza with toppings selected by Area Four chefs — no substitutions (though allergies and dietary restrictions will be accommodated).

    Coming soon: Davis Square will welcome casual Thai restaurant DakZen this summer, says co-owner Panupak Kraiwong. DakZen is a variation of a Thai phrase that means to “eat noodles” or to “chow down,” Kraiwong explains. “We want to make our restaurant feel like the third place to be, like being at your close friend’s house that you can [visit] any time and whenever you want.”

    The fast-casual, self-serve spot will sell noodle soups, barbecued pork over jasmine rice, and stir-fried noodles with customizable sauces, broths, and toppings. It will open this summer; Kraiwong will announce the location soon.

    Pop-ups: New York City favorite Ivan Ramen pops up at the Back Bay’s Uni on Feb. 20 (370A Commonwealth Ave. at Massachusetts Avenue). Chef Ivan Orkin will serve specials like spicy red chili ramen, Tokyo shoyu ramen, and fried chicken with spicy collard greens. There’s a small sushi, sashimi, and street food menu from Uni chef Tony Messina (above). Several tables will be held for walk-ins; service starts at 5:30 p.m.
