Ashland sex offender pleads not guilty to abuse of minor

A registered sex offender was arraigned on Monday in Framingham District Court on charges that he had sex with a minor at least twice after meeting her online, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s office.

Authorities allegedly found 29-year-old Craig Good with the girl at his Ashland home on Aug. 3 — his birthday — as police executed a search warrant there for an unrelated investigation involving allegations Good had received stolen property, a statement from the district attorney’s office said.

Good, a Level 3 sex offender, had allegedly met the girl a few weeks earlier online, authorities said.

Good pleaded not guilty at his arraignment to two counts of aggravated rape and abuse of a child and to a count of receiving stolen property over $250, according to the district attorney’s office , which had no further details on the alleged stolen property.

A judge ruled in Framingham District Court on Monday that Good be held without bail for 60 days. After that, bail will be set at $250,000 and will come with conditions that he stay under house arrest with GPS monitoring, not use the Internet, stay away from the victim, and not have unsupervised contact with children under 16.

According to Ashland’s sex offender registry, Good was convicted in March 2009 of enticing a child under the age of 16. Level 3 indicates “mostly likely to reoffend.”

Good will have a probable cause hearing Aug. 29, in Framingham District Court.
