Two cases of enterovirus confirmed in New Hampshire

Two children from New Hampshire have been confirmed to have the enterovirus D68 but have already been released from the hospital with no complications, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services announced. The children, whose names and ages were not released, are from Hillsborough County, which borders Massachusetts, the department said in a statement Friday. “This is a concerning finding but unfortunately not an unexpected one,” said Dr. José Montero, director of public health at the health department. About 40 states across the country have reported cases of enterovirus. Massachusetts had one reported case of the virus as of Sept. 23.
