A robber brandishing a gun made off with several hundred dollars from a Jamaica Plain convenience store Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
A camera in the The JP Variety Store, on South Street, captured the thief around 2:30 p.m., according to Boston police. The robber asked for money in the register and in the clerk’s wallet.
Munna Barua, an employee, said this isn’t the first robbery for the store.
“It has happened three times in a month,” he said. “It happens all the time, all day.”
Barua said no one was hurt in the store and the surveillance camera gave a good picture of the suspect.
The police report described the robber as white with a medium build, and around 30-32 years old. He wore a black jacket with white stripes, blue jeans, a gray knit hat, and sunglasses.
He also stole some merchandise in the store, including cigarettes. Afterward, the robber fled down Hall Street toward the South West Corridor.
